BIKER NEWS -- An Erie man charged with a violent attack on Halloween night.
It involved members of two rival motorcycle clubs.
But many bikers say the public shouldn't judge all bikers based on this one incident.

44-year-old Brian huff is now sitting in the Erie county prison, facing charges including aggravated assault and robbery.

Erie Police say he attacked a member of a rival motorcycle club, Halloween night.
It happened just before midnight, outside of the Iron Wings Motorcycle Club, at 11th and East Avenue.

Police say an ongoing feud with the Restless Souls club nearby, fueled the attack.

Investigators believe Huff attacked a man with a hatchet, who was standing outside the club, then stole the patches on his vest.

The victim suffered serious head injuries,

Gunfire was also exchanged, bullets hit two nearby homes and four cars.

But Rick Carr, a member of the Blue Knights Lake Erie PA 18 Club, as well as the Fallen Riders Motorcycle Club, says this incident should not taint the public's view of biker clubs.

Many just enjoy riding as a group, and even raising money for various charities, "That's what we enjoy doing, is just riding our motorcycles and helping out different charities, different organizations," said Carr.

In fact, just earlier this week, the group, Riders Advocating Against Child Abuse made a donation to child abuse victims.

And Carr says many more local biker clubs are about that, helping the community and comradery, rather than violence, "Not all motorcycle groups are into that (violence)," said Carr. "A lot of them are for charity, there's probably representatives from about 20 different motorcycle groups and you're talking about 2 motorcycle groups," Carr added.

Since this attack, the Restless Souls club has been shut down because of zoning violations.
A club police say the suspect, Huff, belonged to.
