Police arrested the 36-year-old from Elizabeth East yesterday in Tailem Bend where they found more than one kilogram of methamphetamine in a Holden Commodore.
Police had been looking for the man since his car was found outside the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on July 27 with a sawn-off shotgun and a semi-automatic pistol inside.
A 22-year-old from Blakeview, also believed to be a member of the Comancheros, appeared in court that day charged with the alleged assault of a man at the Yatala Labour Prison on July 20.
Police are still searching for a second man who they say carried out the assault.
Detective Chief Inspector Kim Hand said they believed the man arrested yesterday may have been involved in the planning.
"Our belief is there are a number of people involved in the planning and the prior part of that assault, and we believe this vehicle was one of those," he said.
Three alleged members of the Rebels motorcycle gang charged with a series of shootings in Adelaide's north also appeared in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court that day.
"It's just an example of the preparedness for members of outlawed motorcycle gangs and their associates to be ready for confrontation wherever it occurs," Mr Hand said.
At the time, police alleged the shootings were sparked by a confrontation between the two gangs.
"We are very well aware that the Rebels and the Comancheros were involved in the shooting out at Smithfield," he said.
"As a result of that police were in the area for the purpose of the safety of the public, police and the people that work in the court precinct," Mr Hand said.
The 36-year-old has been charged with a number of offences including trafficking a commercial quantity of drugs and possession of a prescribed firearm.
"This is just another example of bikies thinking they can act above law," Mr Hand said.
"We know they are involved in the manufacture and trafficking of illicit drugs and helping fuel the supply of methamphetamines into our communities."
The man was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
