BN- Two Gold Coast bikies who were on their last warning when they took part in a notorious street brawl have won a reprieve from an unlikely source.

Ex-president of the Gold Coast Bandidos Adam White and his former vice-president, Ahmed Kaddour, avoided jail - for now - on Thursday for breaching suspended sentences, because of a police appeal.

The duo had been on strict good behaviour orders - after being caught with a mechanical pill press and instructions - when they took part in the September 2013 melee.

They appeared in the Brisbane Supreme Court on Thursday, where Commonwealth prosecutor Kylie Ward indicated she wanted their suspended sentences activated, at least in part.

But Justice John Byrne adjourned the hearing to await the outcome of a police appeal of the bikie brawlers' sentences.

White and Kaddour walked free from court, but will return for a hearing at a later date.

In July 2012 the pair were sentenced to 18 months' jail, suspended for 20 months, after Kaddour was found in possession of a mechanical pill press and White with instructions for producing dangerous drugs.

White was front and centre and Kaddour was also present when the bikie fight erupted outside a packed Broadbeach restaurant the following year.

White has also been in trouble for driving unlicensed and possessing a syringe.

The public punch-up sparked a statewide crackdown and the nation's toughest gang laws.

But police were outraged when the brawlers received suspended sentences and fines when they were finally brought to justice last month.

White received a four-month suspended sentence and Kaddour a $1200 fine.

Police have lodged an appeal against their punishments and three others on the grounds they are "manifestly inadequate".
