BN- No Vic haven for bikie gangs, says govt: "Victorian police and the government say the state is not becoming a safe haven for motorcycle gangs, dismissing opposition calls for bikie gangs to be outlawed.
The state government has promised to introduce laws, if it is re-elected at next month's election, that would allow police to tear down fortifications at the club houses of outlaw bikie gangs and other illicit enterprises.
But the government and Chief Commissioner of Police Simon Overland have long resisted adopting anti-association laws specifically banning bikie gangs that exist in other states.
